Popular singer‑songwriter Kaho Hung Joined the Celebration, Amplifying the NAMAGAKI Spirit as He Appears Alongside the Character in an Adorably Playful Halloween “Ghost” Transformation
Renowned singer‑songwriter Kaho Hung made a surprise early appearance at the “NAMAGAKI FESTIVAL” exhibition, where he revealed a long‑standing and heartfelt connection with NAMAGAKI.
Several years ago, I received a NAMAGAKI plushie from a fans." I was instantly captivated by its innocent expression. The more I looked at it, the more I fell in love. Perhaps it’s because we’re both "Ho" (豪), making it easy to develop a "special bond." Since then, NAMAGAKI has become a part of my daily life. Whenever I feel down or stressed, just seeing one of the plush figures at home makes me smile again almost instantly,” he shared.
Since that first encounter, Hung has made a point of seeking out NAMAGAKI merchandise on every trip to Japan. What began as a chance win has grown into what he fondly calls “a small but precious joy in life.” His appearance at Festival Walk alongside NAMAGAKI, therefore, felt to him like “reuniting with an old friend” and the continuation of a serendipitous bond. “NAMAGAKI ’s design is not only cute but also comical; it always makes me laugh. And since we both share the ‘oyster(蠔)’ name, I feel an extra sense of kinship. Collaborating with NAMAGAKI this time honestly feels fated and makes me incredibly happy,” he added.
Exploring each photo spot in the exhibition, Hung revealed a childlike delight. He posed beside the 4.2-metre giant oyster can installation and within the Washoku House, even discovering the hidden pink pumpkins. On spotting them, he playfully transformed into a “rascal” next to NAMAGAKI – a moment that had the staff in stitches. He lingered throughout the experience, reluctant to leave as each corner offered new surprises.
When asked about Halloween, Hung reflected, “As a child, I always envied the way foreign kids could go ‘Trick or Treating’ in films. It was never very common in Hong Kong then. Growing up, it felt a little childish to try, and I considered it a small regret. Festival Walk’s Trick or Treat surprise this year means even adults get the chance to relive that joy – it’s wonderfully thoughtful.”
Later, exploring the pop‑up shop, he was visibly excited, “I’d seen some of these Japanese exclusives online before but couldn’t find them during my last trip. I was thrilled to finally come across them here – and now with brand‑new products and exhibition‑only exclusives, every single piece is irresistible. I couldn’t stop shopping!” Smiling, he concluded, “Being here with NAMAGAKI, having so much fun, and being able to pick up so many exclusive items – without hesitation, I can truly say this is my most unforgettable Halloween yet.”
